Negroni Sbagliato
This happy accident keeps the bitter, herbal bite of Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif, but swaps in bubbles instead of gin, creating a lighter, brighter cocktail.
1 ½ oz Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif
1 ½ oz sweet vermouth
1 ½ oz Prosecco or sparkling wine
Orange twist for garnish, optional
Add Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif and vermouth into mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into flute. Top with Prosecco and stir. Garnish with orange twist.
Jez sez:
“The first time someone ordered this from me I thought they had sneezed. So, I gave them a regular Negroni and a box of tissues. It’s like I always say: Oops!”
Naked & Famous
A riff (like the Paper Plane) on a Last Word (itself a riff on a Corpse Reviver), the Naked & Famous blends smoky, funky mezcal with bittersweet, herbal Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif.
1 oz Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif
1 oz mezcal
1 oz green or yellow Chartreuse
1 oz lime juice
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into chilled coupe.
Jez sez:
“Strangely, I only became famous once I heeded Baba’s advice and put more clothes on. Nobody was more surprised than me!”
The Oliver
Like bittersweet herbs but find the Negroni too bitter, sweet or herbaceous? Some simple swaps provide a gentler cocktail with the same unique character of Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif.
1 oz Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif
1 ½ oz Prairie Organic® Vodka
1 oz lemon juice
½ oz simple syrup
Lemon peel and green olives for garnish, optional
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon peels and olives.
