The Oliver
Like bittersweet herbs but find the Negroni too bitter, sweet or herbaceous? Some simple swaps provide a gentler cocktail with the same unique character of Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif.
1 oz Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif
1 ½ oz Prairie Organic® Vodka
1 oz lemon juice
½ oz simple syrup
Lemon peel and green olives for garnish, optional
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon peels and olives.
Venetian Spritz
Refreshingly cool and bubbly fresh, the bitter orange and sweet wine flavors of a spritz were made for patio season—or any time you need a taste of patio season.
2 oz Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif
3 oz Prosecco
Splash of soda water
Orange wedge, optional
Fill a wine glass with ice cubes. Add all ingredients. Garnish with orange wedge and serve.
Jez sez:
“Rumors persist of a spritz so profoundly effervescent that one sip can send the imbiber bubbling to the heavens. Is this that spritz? No one has survived the journey to say.”
Negroni Sbagliato
This happy accident keeps the bitter, herbal bite of Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif, but swaps in bubbles instead of gin, creating a lighter, brighter cocktail.
1 ½ oz Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif
1 ½ oz sweet vermouth
1 ½ oz Prosecco or sparkling wine
Orange twist for garnish, optional
Add Leroux® Bitter Orange Apéritif and vermouth into mixing glass with ice. Stir and strain into flute. Top with Prosecco and stir. Garnish with orange twist.
Jez sez:
“The first time someone ordered this from me I thought they had sneezed. So, I gave them a regular Negroni and a box of tissues. It’s like I always say: Oops!”
